This magical seven-book series captured the nation when it was first released in 1997. The story follows eleven year old Harry Potter as he discovers he is a wizard and is invited to attend Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Upon arriving at Hogwarts, Harry meets Hermione and Ron who go on to become his best friends. Soon Harry learns that his parents, Lily and James Potter, were murdered by the dark wizard Lord Voldemort. At the time of their murders, Voldemort tried to kill Harry to but the the curse rebounded and seemingly killed Voldemort. For this, Harry become famous amongst the wizard community and become known as 'the boy who lived'. At the end of book one it becomes apparent that Voldemort is still alive. Throughout the series we follow Harry's adventures at Hogwarts and his ultimate quest to defeat Lord Voldemort.

The series becomes more dark and twisted as the story progresses through Harry Potter's adolescent years. A story of good vs evil, it is sure to capture the hearts of young readers.
