Monkey Puzzle

Author: Julia Donaldson

Illustrator: Axel Scheffler

Publisher: Macmillan Children's books

Written by the best children's author, Julia Donaldson (well we think so at least!), The Gruffalo is a classic story in every child's library. This story watches the little monkey’s frustrations as the butterfly continues to take the monkey to the wrong animal. A butterfly seeks to help a little monkey find its mum. The only problem is, every time the monkey describes it’s mum to the butterfly, the butterfly takes the monkey to a different creature. Finally, the monkey explains to the butterfly that its mum looks like the monkey does. This surprises the butterfly because her babies don’t look like her at all! At last the monkey is reunited with his mother. A cleverly written tale full of humour and rhythm.
