Open 7-days a week, the museum is free to enter and explore. However, to enter the popular ‘Wonderland’ you will be required to pay a £10 fee for children under 17 and £12 per adult admission. The ‘Wonderlab’ is spread across 7 different zones giving your child ample opportunities to interact with an abundance of scientific phenomena. Children can witness lightening strike before their eyes, interact with forces, experience space as they walk under the canopy of stars and enjoy live interactive experiments.
If you are simply looking for a free day out, there is plenty of other exciting things to see and do at the Science museum. A popular attraction amongst the younger children is the ‘Garden’, a play area in the museum’s basement. This area is recommended for children aged 2-7 years-old. It can get extremely bust during weekends and school holidays so it is best to get there as early as possible. This interactive area allows children to explore sounds, motion, shadows and reflections. However, we must warn you, this playzone is extremely fun so don’t be alarmed if you have to deal with a few tears when it is time to go!
The space exhibition is not something to be missed. The exhibition houses a life-size replica of the Eagle, the lander that took Neil Armstrong to the Moon in 1969. This area is excellent for children fascinated by space, providing them with an easily understood explanation of the story of space exploration.
The top floor of the museum is home to many iconic planes, giving children a sense of how aviation technology has developed. There is are also an abundance of trains and cars for children to explore.

The museum is situated on Cromwell road, Kensington SW7. The nearest station is South Kensington, served by the District, Piccadilly and Circle lines.
