Parenting Podcasts; Our Favourites

Over here at Pocketbook Parenting, we love a parenting podcast. Don’t get us wrong, there are some days where we like to avoid anything on the topic of weaning, nappies and whinging but for the days when we’re searching for advice or simply a laugh, these are the podcasts we reach for!

Made by Mammas

This podcast covers everything parenthood, including celebrity parent interviews and candid chats between the hosts, Georgia Dayton and Zoe Hardman. This podcast will make you laugh and cry in the same episode, whilst making you realise you’re not alone wherever you are in your parenting journey.

Parenting Hell

Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe bring a refreshing take on parenting with this podcast, brought about the the ‘hell’ of parenting in the Covid-19 lockdown. The hilarious pair of comedians interview celebrity parents, as well as sharing relatable and not-so-relatable anecdotes with their audience, which will no doubt leave you getting strange looks on your commute as you’re laughing on the tube.

Happy Mum, Happy Baby

Giovanna Fletcher has hosted this podcast for seven years now, so there are hundreds of episodes for you to go back and listen to; something we do often when we need some inspiration on a topic we know Giovanna has covered in one of her many star-studded interviews.

Katherine Ryan: Telling Everybody Everything

Technically not a parenting podcast, as hinted by the title, Katherine Ryan talks about ‘everything’ in this one, but as she has three children, parenting comes up often! Katherine is wonderfully honest when it comes to the highs and lows of parenting and if you’re watching her new show, ‘Parental Guidance’ on W, then this is the perfect companion.

How Not to Screw Up Your Kids

As the title suggests, this podcast is an informative one, but avoids being preachy in any way. Dr Maryhan’s voice is free of judgment, giving you the tools you need to confidently approach whatever challenges you face whilst parenting.

Spinning Plates with Sophie Ellis Bextor

Sophie Ellis Bextor has recorded over one hundred episodes interviewing other famous women, who happen to be mothers, about the juggling act that is parenting whilst trying to do absolutely anything else! Another podcast that started in lockdown, we’re so happy that still get to hear from these inspirational women every week.

If you think we’re missing out on a top parenting podcast, please do let us know in the comments; as long as there is laundry to fold or babies in buggies to push round the park, there will always be time for a parenting podcast!
