Easter Holiday Activities - London Edition

Finding inspiration for things to do with kids in the Easter holidays can be tricky. We know this struggle very well as the children we care for often have month-long Easter breaks, so we know filling that time with fun activities is a job in itself! We’ve put together a list of activities to hopefully inspire you, whatever your budget, to create a fun few weeks for the whole family.

DIY Easter Egg Hunt

One of the most fun and cost-effective activities you can plan for Easter is an easter egg hunt at home, in the garden or local park (weather-dependent!). This could be as simple as hiding a few mini chocolate eggs or getting creative with mini treats and toys hidden inside hollow eggs, the world is your oyster!

National Trust Easter Adventures

The National Trust Easter egg hunts were a long-standing tradition our own childhoods, so we’re very fond of this event in particular. The Easter egg hunts will take place at Morden Hall Park (29 March-3 April), Osterley Park (27 March - 14 April), Ham House & Gardens (23 March-14 April), Sutton House (29th and 31st March) and Rainham Hall (28 March - 1 April) this year. Entry is £3 or free for members, plus normal admission fee for non-members to Osterley Park and Ham House. The trail prize is a chocolate egg, or a vegan ‘Free-From’ chocolate egg, made in the UK using cocoa from Rainforest Alliance Certified farms.  For more information and locations outside of London, click here.

Lindt Bunny Hunt at Hampton Court Palace

Historic Royal Palaces has hosted an annual egg or rather, ‘Lindt bunny’ hunt for several years. For the past couple of years it has taken place exclusively at Hampton Court Palace. This year it will run from 23rd March to 14th April 2024. It’s recommended you allow 90 minutes for the hunt, but the hunt is self-led and the price is included in the cost of admission (members go free) so you can take as little or as much time as you want exploring. At the end of the trail, you will be treated to a small Lindt bunny (non-dairy option are available upon request also). Tickets for prime spots sell quickly, so hop to it! Easter at Kew Gardens

Kew Gardens usually puts on some great events at Easter time and this year is no different. Bluey is coming to Kew from 29th March to 14th April 2024. Visitors to Kew will be welcomed into ‘the Bluey zone’ where they will find fun and games based on favourite episodes of Bluey. There will also be plenty of opportunity to learn about plants and flowers native to Bluey’s home, Australia. The cost is included in the price of admission (members go free). We recommend booking ahead as it can get very busy during the school holidays! Find out more here.

The exhibit has toured over 100 cities before landing in London and has been seen by over 10 million people. There is something for everyone displayed in this exhibit of Lego art, from a re-imagined Mona Lisa to a 6-metre-long Tyrannosaurus Rex. The Art of the Brick opened it’s doors on 6th March and will leave for the next city on 12th May, so you have a bit of time before and after Easter to squeeze a trip into your schedule!

Unicorn Theatre

We love the Unicorn Theatre. Unlike other theatres who put on kids shows, the Unicorn theatre was designed with kids in mind. This means a relaxed feel and seating plan, as well as shows tailored to specific age ranges and attention spans. This Easter, the theatre are catering to children aged 3 to 13 with two different plays.

“I Wish” focuses on a Wish Giver and jouneys into a fairy-tail world. Aimed at ages 3-7 and runs for approximately 50 minutes. “I Wish” runs from 22nd March to 21st April 2024. Under 18s cost £11.50 - £17.50 and adults cost £14.50 - £23.50. Find out more and book tickets here.

For children aged 8 to 13, there is, “The Odyssey”. This play runs from 17th March to 21st April and costs £10.50 - £15.50 for under 18s and £13.50 - £21.50 for adults. On his way, Telemachus weathers stormy seas and strange lands, filled with mystical creatures, dangerous monsters and enchanting sirens.
